Participant
If Seattle had even close to SD’s weather I’d much prefer living up there. Much prettier, more character, more culture, better class of people… the weather just sucks 9 mos a year.
I don’t think Seattle would have the culture/character you describe if they had our weather. Up there when it rains, you go into your garage and make some music, or read a book, or paint a painting, etc. Why do any of that here when you can just go to the beach? The weather of any particular city shapes its culture a lot more than people think. Seattle also has one of the highest suicide rates in the country — coincidentally it also has one of the highest cloudy/rainy-day rates.

Participant
My point is that when (not if) a collapse occurs, and IF the flu becomes more virulent, it will be a talking point by this administration for explaining how and why the collapse occurred.
And IF there’s a massive earthquake in the southwest, or IF Yellowstone erupts, or IF aliens attack, or IF the sun explodes, or IF the magnetic fields of the earth flip, or IF Jack Bauer isn’t able to torture fast enough to prevent a ticking time bomb, Obama will also have a talking point. I don’t disagree with you there. But I also don’t see the point in making up fantasy scenarios in order to to bash your Anti-Christ. There are already plenty of things that actually ARE happening in order to do that. Lets leave the bashing to things that have actually happened instead of things that MAY happen. Is that really such an outrageous request?
If not, lets discuss the possible Obama reactions to a massive meteor crash into downtown Los Angeles.

ParticipantJust to clarify: your argument is that Obama may or may not argue something depending on whether the economy does or does not collapse and whether this flu does or does not become a major epidemic? Way to go out on a limb there!
I believe we have a phrase to describe this kind of thinking: “Grasping at straws.”

Participant
Now, go back and sip your Kool Aid. And I say that lovingly :-)
Kool Aid is bad for you. I’ll go back to drinking my horchata, thank you very much.
