ParticipantJust got back from Spain, and man-oh-man was it great being able to zip from city to city in a few hours on a comfy, spacious train with electrical outlets for laptops and gadgets, a barcar with pretty servers pouring tasty beverages, and 3G cell service available for me to GSD (get shit done). All for relatively cheap and easy when compared to the headache and hassles of car/plane travel.
A man can wish for such wonder to come to the US, can’t he?
Granted, we have different problems than the likes of Europe and Japan (urban sprawl, larger distances), but it seems inevitable to me that we will eventually need some sort of efficient rail transport in order to more efficiently GSD (see above).
I’m curious how many of the “build more freeway lanes” crowd has ever ridden a rail in Europe or Japan.

ParticipantPeople still listen to the radios? Isn’t that what the Internets and Eyepods are for?
(sorry, still bummed that 94.9 jacked our “Friends Chill” night at the Whistlestop. At least they could have done their version on a different night. Oh, and also picked a name that doesn’t have the world “chill” in it. I mean, really?)
