“Here’s the facts about red light camera tickets, when to act, and when to beware-” I ran a google search: http://www.ticketkick.com/tips-for-avoiding-red-light-%E2%80%9Cscamera%E2%80%9Dtickets/
Good luck.
AecetiaParticipant“So maybe law enforcement needs to drop into those corporate board rooms and treat them like Seal Team 6 treated Osama Bin Laden.”
AecetiaParticipant“The problem is not in Britain – which, despite the appalling legacy of debt left by the last government, is doing most of the right things – but in mainland Europe, where lack of foresight, unwillingness to act, confusion of counsel and lack of clear thinking are indeed everywhere to behold. We can but hope that self-preservation will eventually force governments into corrective action, but they are leaving it perilously late.”
AecetiaParticipant“It didn’t matter to me that Steve Jobs was a liberal. It disappointed me for his sake, but that is not who he was to me. Steve Jobs epitomized American exceptionalism. His life epitomized it. His philosophies epitomized American exceptionalism. The fact that he was a liberal, to me, was one of the greatest contradictions. But that is of no matter and no concern now. This past Tuesday they introduced the iPhone 4S, and I told you that on Monday I felt like it was Christmas Eve — and it was for me — and at age 60 I was able to feel like I did as a kid on Christmas Eve when I was eight or nine. There hasn’t been, in the last ten years, an Apple product that has not created wonderment in me, that has not exceeded my expectations. Using Apple products is genuine fun for me; and at the same time, they have increased my productivity. I know I’m making this sound like it’s a lot about me but it’s the best way to explain all this to you. What Jobs did literally changed the way human beings receive-transmit-enjoy all media. One guy did this. He had a lot of great people around him, but one guy did it. One guy’s vision. To me, it’s mind-boggling.I’m sad that he’s dead.”
Me too. I think eventually he took care of his daughter because she is a Harvard grad. Not saying what he did was not reprehensible. I guess it is the same as the people who love Clinton or Kennedy; those people intellectually set aside their dalliances and look at the good they did. I am not expecting you to do that svelte and I respect your post about his cowardice when it came to his illegitimate child, just adding some information to complete the picture of a flawed person who did contribute to our world.
AecetiaParticipantI think Temecula sounds great, with all of you interesting people living together in harmony with rednecks in lifted trucks. It sounds like Lakeside with HOA’s. Just kidding, but it cannot be that bad. It has wineries and decent restaurants. Have TG tell you about how he felt when he was lost in East County. He was terrified! By the way, I think Walter would make a wonderful neighbor because of his love of the environment and because he believes in recycling. HH I think you will enjoy living there and good luck to you in your house hunting.
AecetiaParticipant
Aecetia, you are my long lost twin. … can’t wait for the 2012 elections. drinks are on me!
I think Mom liked you better.
AecetiaParticipant

I think it is desperation. I sold a house a couple of year’s ago and many realtors called even though we specified no agents. It was a FSBO. Anyway, it sold fast (one week). The buyer knew what they wanted and was qualified with a loan from the credit union. We then pulled the ad, but I received calls from agents for over a year. Not every day, but steady, about once a month. This was in early 2009. I am thinking things have gotten worse and this fellow is using a targeted group to market to. I think his letter and approach are tacky, but I am thinking there are some hungry realtors out there.
You are right that there are some hungry Realtors out there.
I know because I am one.
My business cash flows positive and does well but anyone who is not super-motivated these days generally isn’t doing much business. That being said, it feels good to not be desperate.
As far as not using Realtors:
On the seller side:
Avoiding paying commissions is a good idea if you can swing it.
HOWEVER, if you sold in a week as a FSBO, you probably did not get full market value.
That’s just the reality of today’s market.
But I put my money where my mouth is.
If you want, we will get a past appraisal done by Todd Lackner (whose integrity is pretty much beyond reproach) and if I am right, you pay for it and if I am wrong I will pay for it.
I am betting you sold at a discount.
PM me.On the buyer side:
You are well within your rights to not pay a buyer-side commission to an agent.
You are not within your rights to deny a buyer the right to whatever consultation or representation they want.If agents are bugging you though, just get their info and report them to the do-not-call authorities.
A few hundred bucks will be a great disincentive.
Better yet, get their info and offer to not report them for $300 each.
I PM’d you. No need to get an appraisal. The past is the past.AecetiaParticipantI think it is desperation. Most of the things you mentioned are all positive, or at least part of normal living.
Well I don’t know about you but I don’t think getting old is a positive! lol
They are all businesses prepared to offer a service who are seeking people needing that service. I see no problem with that, even if it is for an event that people aren’t happy about.
I keep getting advertising for cremation. I just keep wondering if they know something I do not!
Damn, Aecetia, that was funny!! And I needed a laugh.
Thanks, eaves. What can I say. I used to get irritated when the AARP sent me stuff when I was in my 40’s. Now its the cremation letters. What’s next? Is the grim reaper going to tap me on the shoulder? I am going to fight kicking and screaming before I go.September 25, 2011 at 11:29 PM in reply to: OT- Is Sunshine a Natural Cancer Cure for Melanoma, Prostate Cancer, etc.? #729775AecetiaParticipantNice post njtosd and thanks for the updated information. It is always good to look at both sides of the question in the interest of honest discussion. Rich does a good job of weeding out people who direct others to places for the purpose of selling products.
“Study shines more light on benefit of vitamin D in fighting cancer. University of California – San Diego — 600,000 cases a year of breast and colorectal cancer could be prevented each year by adequate intake of vitamin D, according to researcher.”

AecetiaParticipantFrom where I sit, they are two sides of the same coin. It does not matter which side of the coin is up, America loses.
AecetiaParticipantThanks for posting, flu.
