ParticipantI agree that off topic is essential to give people something to talk about when there’s nothing to report in real estate, but this is blatant electioneering, and in my view has no place here. It’s an attempt to use the internet to fight Obama on his home turf. There was a recent post that asked where everybody has gone? This kind of shallow political posturing may be one reason. It certainly has turned me off, and I’ve been spending more time on other blogs. One way to deal with them is just to ignore them completely, and they will pass down the active topics list quickly.

ParticipantJust read at some of the posts and you’ll know why. I find the real estate posts useful and informative, but some of the other ones sad. Blogs are great information exchanges, but when they are high-jacked by blog-nuts who spend more time in virtual reality, than in the real world, it somehow seems to bring the worst out in people.

ParticipantI agree with poorsaver, if FDIC coverage is difficult to understand, it’s almost certainly going to be a tortuous claims process. Better to avoid the hassle in the first place, and bank elsewhere if liquidity rumors are circulating. I also wouldn’t believe anything a bank told me.
