Yep the good ones die young don’t they Bristol?
Those were some damn fun shows to go to.
Still have the vinyl ‘Tales of the New West’ and my kids have their Ipods loaded up with all the favorites. Had a surreal moment when me and a friend ran into the band at a Denny’s, 1am outside of Bakersfield. We had been listening to their music in the car coming back from Yosemite. They were out touring the central CA bar circuit. Fitting we met them in a greasy spoon. Great band.

January 5, 2011 at 11:03 PM #648277TexasLineParticipantI remember the vast “open spaces” between the city and North County along 101/I-5. I though back then that I wanted to live in Coastal North County when I grow up. I loved the space and the proximity to the beach…and no one around. Not only can I not afford it now, but way to crowded. I miss the surf trips though.
Hey, speaking of bars…what about the Stage Door on Crystal Pier? I think it was there more than 50 years, before it closed down the the ’90’s(?). Been there, done that.
