And when the Spirit club was one of the few places to see original music (vs cover bands). Now it’s brick by brick.
Metro… that brings back memories from the 80’s.
Remember Mother’s in PB? (I think Trader Joes is there now… could be wrong about the exact location on Garnet). How about Jose Murphy’s… where you could see members of almost any band jamming together on Sunday afternoons.

Not a native either but have been in and out of SD a few times in the last 25 years. Very nostalgic JP. I remember partying at Confetti’s in 1985. Loved the Planet in the early 90’s. Of course there were more than a few forgetable nights at the Red Onion. Had one of the funniest days of my life at Jose Murphy’s in 91 and have the whole thing on video. My best friend and I still watch it once a year to laugh.
