A simple thought. If you are at the point in life where downsizing is in your near term future, getting out quickly is probably the best path.
If however you are younger and have a growing family waiting for the bottom is the best probable choice. That is because “squish down” lowers the percent of difference in moving up in a down market, assuming you can sell.
