WOW, I’m shocked that the SDDT will shutter its website as well as its long running paper!
SDDT used to be the ONLY source in the county for getting NOD’s, NOS’s and many other forms of public record announcements such as what was being built by who, addresses recently sold by city, for how much and to whom, names of parties case numbers/assigned depts of new lawsuits filed, legal announcements, service by publication and a myriad of legal and business want ads along with great articles on the regions “movers and shakers” in real estate, law and business.
I guess they slowly lost all their ad clients over the years due to most public records (allowable by law) now stored in cyberspace and available for purchase.
So sad to see it go. SDDT was truly a daily staple and an icon in SD … especially in the legal community.
I never knew about that site, but from looking at whatever of the parts of the site is still working, it seems pretty useful.
@mixxalot, what is your quibble with the site and its owner, was he a big bubble cheerleader, not just a realtor cheerleader? I’m asking an honest question, I nothing about the history of the site or its owner.
yeah I got sick and tired of Chowderhead broken record that buy real estate now or be priced out forever and real estate never goes down and is best investment. Yeah right asshole.
I can’t remember exactly why, but I can remember really hating the guy myself. I only knew him through radio.
I walked into a meeting one time way back when and there he was, scheduled to be a presenter. I could barely contain my anger and remember him glancing at me as if to wonder why I was staring at him with laser eyes. I didn’t say anything to him, but he apparently understood my opinion.
I remember hating listening to Chamberlin like most here, but rarely hear him anymore. I do wish I had jumped on his bubble bandwagon 2002 to 2004, I passed on a couple of really big opportunities. I became a Pigg a couple of years too early.
Chamberlin emcees a meeting I have attend every year for the last 10 years and I have grown to tolerate, maybe even like, him. But, then he doesn’t talk real estate either.
The seething hate toward Chowderhead is due to his smug arrogance as a know it all douchebag and that he got his $$$ in real estate bubble. He also comes off as a blowhard showoff and wannabe financial guru when he just timed the market at right time 20 years ago. A real class A dickhead!
