Yeah, it’s a desirable area so I think it will keep it’s value a lil better than the rest …but with that said, it probably wont drop below 100…but it will get damn close.

May 19, 2008 at 10:33 AM #207418pizzamanParticipantI’d be willing to bet that the larger homes in Harveston (3000 sq ft or more)will reach $100psf by this fall. The reason I say this is there has been a pattern developing during the course of the “correction” where the prime areas of Temecula/Murrieta tend to lag the outskirts (Menifee, French Valley, Wildomar) by 3 months or so. It was only a few months ago that we saw the first sub $100 listing in the fringe areas and now they are common place with many approaching $90 psf. Even the better areas of Murrieta have some sub $100 but they get snapped up fairly quickly. Heres one http://www.redfin.com/CA/Murrieta/23500-Sycamore-Creek-Ave-92562/home/6373121

Harveston is a nice area but watch out for the taxes.May 19, 2008 at 11:18 AM #207468AnonymousGuestPizzaman, the problem is I don’t need a 3000+ sf house, so I want to see the smaller homes approach $100 a sf. In harveston, they might not get there, but I’d be happy if they get close and I did see a couple close to that yesterday.
I don’t like high tax rates, don’t know what it is in Harveston. Also, I don’t like high HOA, but the tradeoff is living in a lake community.
I like South Temecula too. I visited wolfcreek to look at the new homes, they were all too high right now. I’m sure you can get good deals on the bankowned, but I’m concerned about the casino.
Anyway, I have two boys who would enjoy the atmosphere on the lake. There were a lot of kids around, families, couples and dogs. I don’t like the layout of the homes with the alley driveways, so I wouldn’t be getting one of those. And it did feel congested on the streets with the teeny, tiny lots.
Like others have posted on here, there is an elitest attitude in there, so I was surprised that a couple of people had their garages open and they were filthy looking. I felt like saying, “Man, clean your garage!”
