totally agree with you scaredy!
As soon as he announced it, I smacked myself in the forehead…duh! Of course she’s the right choice.
He needed an attack dog and she is it…a former DA, how in the hell can anyone fault that? Biden can sit back and be the mellow anti-Trump and let Harris tear into Trump like a pit bull. Very happy with the choice!
It had just been dawning on me the last few days that him taking her on after she attacked him during the primaries is going to make him look stronger…like he doesn’t hold grudges…he appreciates a strong woman…and gives him a chance to say that he has made mistakes in past decisions, we all have. There are things I’d take back if I could.
Bass was dull for sure. I think what started scaring me about her is her lack of national exposure…would she know how to handle herself under ultra-scrutiny? She hadn’t truly been vetted like Harris has – what if there are skeletons nobody has dug up yet?
And Harris – the daughter of Jamaican and Indian immigrants – oh my how can you excite the left any more than that? They are going to go ape sh*t that the VP is female, black, asian, immigrant, everything all wrapped up in one. And every voter wjth an Indian background is going to vote you can be damn sure. Well maybe if she was gay also the left would get even more excited.
I would have been pissed had it been Warren. Just don’t like her.
I read an article yesterday that black leaders warned Biden that he’d better pick a black female or lose the black vote. He listened. I think that’s wise.
This is going to energize Democrats and I do believe win quite a few of us independents over. Very happy right now!

August 12, 2020 at 8:17 AM #819187The-ShovelerParticipantDon’t know much about her really but she seems very much in the middle (not to the extreme left).
Probably a good choice for Biden.
Despite all the noise and headlines etc.. the Majority still want a middle of the road candidate to vote for.

August 12, 2020 at 8:16 PM #819193svelteParticipantholy cow, I posted go kamala go last night and my republican friends came unglued.
The garbage they responded with tells me she worries them very VERY much. I mean I thought Hillary got under their skin!
The biggest thing is “she’ll take away my guns!” followed by a lot of other claims – just to see what Fox would say I watched it last night…its like my Rep friends took crib notes from Fox News last night…almost word for word.
When I rebutted them point by point, they started in on false news about how she’ll abolish guns and many other things…I had to start deleting all the false claims.
The misinformation is at a level I have never seen before. It is just astounding.
The right is worried. Very worried.

Or never noticed.

For a long time I’ve been saying that the right-wing media is destroying our country. This is what I’m talking about:
Republican voters, being human and therefore credulous and gullible, believe whatever they hear on Fox Propaganda (and Breitbart and the rest of the right-wing media). They support republicans and con man don no matter what they do, because Fox Propaganda tells them republicans and con man don are doing a great job no matter what they do.
As I’ve said before, I don’t think right-wing voters are more credulous than left-wing voters or anybody else. The difference is that there is a massive industry dedicated to right-wing propaganda.
Sure, the left has some propaganda available. But there are big differences between what’s available on the left and what’s available on the right. Mainly Fox Propaganda, but there is a lot more. Fox Propaganda is propaganda masquerading as real, hard, actual news. And it’s the go-to “news” outlet of tens of millions of Americans. The left has nothing like that.
The more that things change, the more they stay the same.
This is nothing new. It has been around well over 100 years and is a part of what made William Randolph Hearst rich…or more accurately what kept him rich. Only a lot of it was Democratic back then. Ever hear of Yellow Journalism?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_journalism
“Yellow journalism, or the yellow press, is a type of journalism that presents little or no legitimate well-researched news and instead uses eye-catching headlines to sell more newspapers.[1] Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering or sensationalism”
Hmmm…sounds very familiar.
“The term was coined in the mid-1890s to characterize the sensational journalism that used some yellow ink in the circulation war between Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World and William Randolph Hearst’s New York Journal. The battle peaked from 1895 to about 1898, and historical usage often refers specifically to this period. Both papers were accused by critics of sensationalizing the news in order to drive up circulation, although the newspapers did serious reporting as well. An English magazine in 1898 noted, “All American journalism is not ‘yellow’, though all strictly ‘up-to-date’ yellow journalism is American!”
As I said, the more that things change, the more they stay the same.
Take a chill pill. The sun will come up tomorrow. And 100 years from now, our decendants will be complaining that the Thought Permeating Devices (TPDs) are filling our heads with political propaganda from the newly formed SpaceCadet party. TPDs having replaced the internet of the early 2000s, which replaced the newspapers of the 1900s…
Has it been around a hundred years? Or is it at a never-before-seen level?
What they’re doing to Kamala is no different from what they’ve been doing to Hillary for the past 20 years.
