In a moment of misplaced altruism, I went to a high school graduation in Spring Valley a few years ago. I’ve never been to visitor’s day at a prison before, but I imagine that it would be very similar… fist fights over seats by adults, obese women in lycra, everyone in their Sunday t-shirt and baggy shorts.
epic post of the day!!!
“moment of misplaced altruism,” I’m stealing that and making it part of my everyday vocabulary, love it!
On a serious note, while spring valley has it’s issues, the original poster asked why it is cheaper than Lemon Grove? I have no good answer, LG has similar issues, but then again I spend about as much time in the highway 94 corridor as I do watching professional soccer.

There are also some sections of Spring Valley in Casa de Oro that are on the north side of 94, which would also be an improvement. That being said, like Casca’s visit, it is not a place to live for the weak or meek in spirit. Due diligence is required especially if you have family or children who you cannot afford to send to a private school.
P.S. I am not calling Casca either weak or meek, merely agreeing with his description of the denizens of Spring Valley. In addition to lycra there are multitiple tatoos and missing teeth.

February 22, 2009 at 7:06 PM #352748sd_mattParticipantWell that answers my question.
I like the “misplaced altruism” comment. When I read that I got misty eyed about my home town, but not long enough to want to live in Spring Valley.
