I think people are reacting to the “CA people are idiots” attitude going on in this thread. We live here, we like it, and it is offensive to make such holier than thou comments. Now, who has the attitude? I have heard many people that are relative newcomers out here, constantly complaining, and stating how much “better it is” in Chicago, Texas, etc. What is that? They are better than us somehow? It is just plain rude.
Do you go to a party and then tell the hostess you don’t like the refreshments? Or, tell her the house is ugly? No, you just keep your mouth shut. It’s all about manners.
Ricechex, by the same token, people who have manners should not toot their own horns. They should be understated and modest.
As a San Diegan, I agree with jstoesz that people here too too real estate centric and believe they live in paradise. Not. There’s a whole world out there.

Cough, cough, cough. The only Mexican food I like is Albondigas in light broth.
If you want to develop heart disease, Mexican food laced with lard and cheese is it.

November 12, 2010 at 1:01 PM #630150sdrealtorParticipantEnjoy it Brian. Its a rather normal suburb by all appearances. Stop at Big JOhn’s on Route 70 for a cheesesteak if you can. I know what is going on there are as most of my friends still live in that area and I visit 1 or 2 x’s a year. One of my friends ran for (and lost) Mayor.
UPenn is actually getting better as they spread their reach into West Philly and clean things up around there. The only thing worse is that Koch’s Deli probably isnt there anymore (one of the brothers died). Asked your brother, if he went to Penn he will know about Koch’s.
