dumb people
smart people
arrogant
ignorant
angry
depressedand on and on.
You encounter them daily as you drive around.
And yes, there is a correlation between aggression and IQ, sorry AN.
There are aggressive drivers around Temecula – there are a lot of rednecks and the uneducated ignorant.

I can read just fine. Can you? Reread your own post dude. What does a statement about the road being a mixing bowl have anything to do with anything? You said most tailgaters have low IQ, the lower ones IQ the more aggressive they tend to be, and that tailgating is most often a form of aggression. I see no hedging in that statement.However, even if you used a hedge word, where’s your proof that people with lower IQ are more aggressive? Is Temecula 100% rednecks and uneducated ignorant people? If not, how do you know those who are aggressive on the road are rednecks and uneducated ignorant people? If Temecula is 100% fill with rednecks and uneducated ignorant people, and you live in Temecula, driving a 8k lb Ford Excursion and a 75lb class 5 hitch… hmm…. nevermind…

ParticipantActually think tailgating may be more about ego than low IQ–perhaps a little of both. Driving is one place in the world where the playing field of life is leveled–and it seems some people use it as a place to “prove something.”
Tailgating proves nothing, since it doesn’t get you another million or one more minute of life, so, what’s the point? I just laugh when I see people doing things like that, but it’s sad when their stupidity evolves into an accident.
One thing that seems to be working for us when we see someone bearing down on us in our rear-view mirror–especially in heavy traffic on the freeways–is hitting the hazard lights–it’s amazing how people behind us really start slowing down. We believe doing this one simple thing at the right time has saved us from several accidents.

If low iq is the reason for tailgating, then it doesn’t speak well for the guys out there. Guys tend to be more aggressive as well, so we must be the dumber sex.

When I first got my BMW I always felt like I was being challenged, and in some cases maybe a victim of resentment – or maybe even class warfare. That still may be the case, but I’ve adjusted.
Normally when I get on the 15 the 1st thing I do (if clear) is get into the lane next to the slow lane (#2?).
My BMW has capabilities that far exceed most cars around me; but I don’t need the stress so I take it safe and easy.
