That’s why I’m so interested in foreclosed and short-sold property. For an uncreative soul like myself, buying a few distressed properties, turfing whatever is squatting there out, renovating them a bit, and renting to decent humans represents the quickest route to having the financial security of a 50 year old while still in my 30s and be able to retire with her once I hit my 40s and she hits her 60s.
If I could be 50 years old tomorrow and skip the rest of my 30s and 40s, I’d be happy as a pig in shit.
Yes, but you would still have to live here, which you hate.

Tell that to Bill Kunstler or George Carlin.

December 5, 2014 at 10:40 AM #780773CoronitaParticipantI know I’m getting really old when I go to a store and some teen working there starts calling me “Sir”….

Used to be 55 now 65, in 7 years it will most likely be 70 etc… LOL.December 5, 2014 at 11:07 AM #780776njtosdParticipant
If it allows me to marry someone 10-20 years older and retire early with her, then probably. 20 and early 30 somethings are boring and mostly disgusting to me. I’m an old man at heart, so I want to be with someone of the same age.
Harold and Maude? Is this what you’re talking about?

That was more like 40-50 years difference. I just can’t stand people my own age. Whenever a 20-something opens his or her mouth, I want to shut it for them.

Not sure what you mean but as little as 5 years ago it was 55 in most places, now if you ask it is 65.

In Vegas, the casinos have senior discounts at 50 (only on certain days of the month). I’m almost there.
