It’s also the only place you can get real-estate charts with Doug Henning backgrounds.
Don’t forget the neat manicules.
I’m here because there’s good info posted by some smart people. Some it relates tangentially to local housing issues. π
Will I still be here after I buy? Maybe, but I think I’ll want to put the whole house hunt nightmare behind me. I feel like I’ve been hanging out at a used car dealership for the past year, waiting for the right car to come in.

May 13, 2009 at 12:39 PM #398098strawberryfieldsParticipantI’ll make this my first post. I’ve been reading (lurking) since around 2005. Our family was growing and I felt that we needed to purchase a larger home. Prices were crazy and I couldn’t understand how our friends, neighbors and co-workers were coming up with so much cash to purchase $750,000+ houses.
This site (and ocrenter’s) were about the only sources of sanity – regarding real estate – at the time.
As for when we’ll purchase, it’s hopefully not going to take another four years of waiting!

May 13, 2009 at 12:40 PM #398103afx114ParticipantI am here to hopefully one day become a home owner.
I am here because I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and information.
I am here to engage in debate with people who have different opinions than myself.
I am here as a hedge against the echo-chambers of the Internets.
I am here because different people from different backgrounds, ages, races, religions, locations, incomes, political leanings, and experiences have been brought together by a common interest.
Most of all, I am here to learn.
