Who’s bitter now?

I think I’m a 3. I own my condo and like it but want to expand my empire to include a house with a studio/workshop/garage and some land. I’m bitter that the value of my condo is going down, but sweet that houses are getting cheaper while I’ve been living in a decent condo and saving more money for a house. Even less bitter because I don’t know if I’ll ever sell the condo since I can rent it out once I eventually get a house (I’ve saved more than enough for a chunk ‘a downpayment so won’t need to sell). Plus, having a condo in San Diego is step 1 in my 5-step road-to-retirement program.

3-4, more like 4. I’m just at the beginning of the vindication phase. I’ll be a 3 when interest rates start rising and a two when I start my search for a home. 2 will be coincident with the bottom of the market and the shaming of all the illiterate trash that was allowed to become home debtors. I’ll be a one when I’ve signed on the dotted line and hopefully put this, as someone else wrote, gigantic waste of time behind me! Thats something to celebrate.

Not to be two final in my stages of encroaching happiness, I’m still willing to party, but just a bit and conservatively.

On the bitterness scale, I’d say I’m an 8 like gundoctor. I agree with him about the TIME issue. Time is something you can’t get back and I had wanted to be in a home of my own long before now. But, I’ll get there. The silver lining is I didn’t buy an overpriced house which I would be stuck with now.

Hey, Flu. Take care of yourself. I would gather you’re on antibiotics. I’m sure you’ve been told, but force yourself to drink lots of liquids to loosen the phlegm up.
