The water is hard, but I don’t really notice in the shower, doing dishes, etc. The guy before in this house used to have a water softener as did many in Clairemont. Apparently it caused some problems with the water heater – they corrode faster. Lots of people in the ‘hood mentioned this.
So I ended up taking it out.
I add some conditioner to the dishwaser, per the manufacturer’s instructions based on the water hardness measurements published for this area.
I do have a reverse osmosis water purification system because the water tastes terrible. I love the RO system. The water tastes great and I have it hooked up to the water dispenser in the refrigerator. It fits under the kitchen sink and cost about $250.
