It was an awesome game. I hope they win the Super Bowl this year. It would make 2009 a good year for me.
P.S. I agree with TG. We need LT. That’s why it is a Team.

Both he and Sproles make their running game the all around best in the league. Sproles is incredible but he can be shut down if the Chargers play against a tough defensive front. That’s when you need a power runner and without LT all they have is the inexperienced Hester and a predictable passing game.

Sadly statistical data for running backs shows that LT is very much running on borrowed time. It is also true that he has been a workhorse for the team for many years and that does not bode well for him either. Groin problems are a very chronic injury and even with off season surgery I believe in another year or two he will be either in the booth, helping to coach, or doing time with MRS LT at the pet care place she owns in Sorrento Valley.
Don’t get me wrong I like the guy alot and yes we do need LT.
Picking up Bennett was actually a very shrewd move as he had a few impressive runs yesterday. Furthermore when he was with the Viks he was not bad. No way is he a sub for LT amd to be brutally honest, in retrospect keeping Turner and letting LT go would have been the better football move. However it would not have been an acceptable PR move and AJ had his hands tied. I think Spanos really likes LT’s character as well. I see a major buyout of LTs contract in exchange for a retirement. This will allow the bolts to regain cap money and get a quality RB.
Hopefully in the next year or two LT will get to split time which will increase his longevity because it would really be nice to see him play in some of these playoff games. Honestly when you look back he has not played in any of the past years worth of playoff games (this and last). He played in the Patsy loss and before that in the Jets loss. Two stinkfests…
His window is small and getting smaller but he is a hell of a guy to gameplan against so yeah they need him.
