ParticipantMore efficient to sell in bulk and lose $100k per property? It would seem to me that it would be FAR more efficient for the banks to HIRE enough people to handle the backlog. With losses like those quoted if they hired one person per property they would come out ahead. As a bonus just think how much better the unemployment numbers would look!

ParticipantI agree it would be better for the banks to handle the backlog – and as an added bonus, provide employment in our economy. But if you consider the cost to sell each individual property, selling them bulk makes sense. Less of a hassle for them.
Frankly, individually would help our economy all the way around, provide employment for realtors, too (please no tomato tosses π
