    Globalization causes wage deflation. Not because you and I shop at Walmart. You and other Walmart haters can spend your money at Ralphs and I will keep my extra $1800/year in my pocket. Wage deflation at the lower end of the labor market happens regardless. The problem is that we have too many unskilled workers.

    Worry not, we are well on the way to impoverishing the bottom 40%. I’m sure it won’t affect you, at all. Then when there are no jobs for them, you will complain about the welfare state and say they are not entrepreneurial enough.

    Really, you should go thank those *unskilled* workers everyday that they don’t compete with you, instead of denigrating them. You don’t really want them going after your job.

    We should be nice to them because we will likely soon all join them when no one needs our “skills” anymore. I think the world can probably live without a few American MBAs and attorneys…
