Have you looked in the older parts of Scripps Ranch?
Here’s an example house:
http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-110020777-9736_Caminito_Joven_San_Diego_CA_92131It sort of has the ‘look and feel’ of the link you posted. And it’s only about 10 miles from Sorrento Valley.

May 13, 2011 at 5:29 PM #695328briansd1Guestyeah, the house has potential. And, yes, BG, that house looks very “bonita” (the city in SD county and the spanish meaning).
Just being facetious with BG because she loves old things like stone fireplaces and decorative details of the past.
I’m not a fireplace guys. I find them useless.
I would much rather have floor to ceilings windows.
They put fake fireplaces in condos downtown, but I find that they use space for nothing. I think it’s to appeal to that mythical “traditional” 50yo buyer with money.

BG, if Wanttobuy doesn’t jump on it, let’s you and I go in on it!!
Okay, if we are successful in scoring it, can we have joint parties with cheap wine and invite sdr and his “Attila the Hun” friend(s) over ?? (inside joke ;=])
Okay with me. Do they have reno skills (preferably when their blood runs free of alcohol)?
I know!! Let’s tear out the poolside concrete, and plant vineyards for our own wine!
