There is one other company that contacted me in the past called activenetwork (activenetwork.com) located in SD. I believe they might have a few openings specifically for DB folks. Let me know if you need a recruiter’s contact. I believe they are private and are in their 5th-6th round of funding and close to profitable (could be wrong though).
The private insurance company ICW was hiring for awhile if that’s your cup of tea. Not sure though. You could check them out. I have the contact of a recruiter from there and know a few people that might still work there.
Last comment. Have you considered expanding your skillset?
The thing is, with all due respect, in this economy, the limited hirings are being done in smaller/private companies…Usually, they are demonstrating POC’s…These days don’t start off the bat needing a DB guru. Most of the V0.X/V1.X offerings just need to get a proof of concept off the ground, they usually start out using ORM toolsets which does the data model to relational DB mappings for you trading off efficiency for implementation speed. JPA and RubyOnRails are just a few of some the directions some of these small players are doing to save on implementation time.
