I have to agree with this statement. The lack of a single payer system is one of the reasons which American jobs have been lost to other 1st world coutries such as Canada, EU and Japan. Employers are saddled with the costs of the individual here where as in countries with a single payer system the costs are shared.
Without economic stability capital does not get invested, this is true for individuals and families. I know there are ideological differences when it comes to goverment provided health care but not doing anything leaves us at a disadvantage among competing nations.
