Your kidding right? The Media is intentionally trying to talk us into a depression where even more news jobs will go bust????
The media isnt talking us anywhere. The media is applying its usual hype to the current economic winds. The media knows how to sell, and it isnt by giving an indepth and extensive overview of a very complex and very regional recession. (hint, it is by showing the PAIN)
This recession is hitting some people VERY hard, and others are not even being touched. If anything, they are better off as prices are plummeting for many of the goods they consume. The media, in its desire to sell stories, is reporting on those who are getting clobbered. They always do this.
PLUS, I would argue this is important. The mouthpiece that is Yun (NAR) just reported a 13% drop in the YOY national housing median. While absoulutely useless for forecasting what San Diego is doing, it is important to note this. Yun states that they have never recorded a drop like that before, and it is most likly the largest drop since the depression. This isnt dooms dayism, this is news!
