Oceanside is awesome. Only problem with it – lower commissions for real estate agents that want you to spend $800k in Carmel Valley for the same place with 5x as many neighbors.
Look around Melrose and Highway 76 and you’re in a great area.

Actually, Oprah did a show back in 2005 about child prostitution in which she described Oceanside as being a hub of ‘child sex slavery’.It made a lot of people unhappy, including the mayor of Oceanside.

There was also an article in the San Diego Reader about prostitutes having sex with military guys in the bushes just south of Camp Pendleton. They were sex slaves and they were doing that in the bushes so that police patrolling by helicopter would not see anything.
Just read the papers and you will realize that you live in a pretty nast little town.
Here is what I just read today:

Just a couple of weeks ago, I stopped to take some gas in Oceanside (just off the 78) and I saw a prostitute solliciting people, right there at the gas station. I just couldn’t believe it!

October 29, 2008 at 11:28 AM #294742fredo4ParticipantMike –what time in the a.m. are you talking about? I know a lot of parents that have to drive their kids into S.D. to the Catholic high schools and they tell me that it takes about a half an hour if you leave early enough.
