I look forward to watching the Republican debate. The Donald is now even when Jeb bush in the polls.
August 5, 2015 at 6:44 PM #788499FlyerInHiGuestI love Trump’s love of real estate.
Very good quote about his possessions:“One thing I have learned: There is high maintenance. There is low maintenance. I want no maintenance.” (“Trump: The Art of the Comeback”)
August 6, 2015 at 6:54 AM #788505scaredyclassicParticipantV. Hillary, he has my vote.
August 6, 2015 at 10:04 AM #788506spdrunParticipantWith any luck, she’ll have to withdraw. Pulling for Sanders or maybe Biden vs that two-faced nutbag. But the nutbag is still better than Trump.
August 6, 2015 at 12:55 PM #788508poorgradstudentParticipantPart of me admires his honesty. It’s how Jesse The Body Ventura managed to win the Governorship of Minnesota back in the day. A lot of Ventura voters echoed the sentiment “I may not always agree with him, but at least I know where he stands”.
I mean, he’s crazy, but both Jeb and Hillary have tendencies to address issues with “Well, what do you WANT my position to be?” Jeb in particular has to keep backing off from some of his more moderate positions.
August 6, 2015 at 7:12 PM #788509FlyerInHiGuestI’m going to watch the debate rerun online because I have no TV right now.
Trump is like a rich common man, not intellectually curious and not policy oriented. I think it’s better that we have elitist intellectuals as leaders. I like Alexander Hamilton.
August 6, 2015 at 10:18 PM #788513scaredyclassicParticipantisnt trump really the logical conclusion of reagan? this is performance art…we need to be governed by someone who is dramatically satsifying. but times have changed from the 80s.
years of reality tv has brought us to this moment.
i think he might have my vote. anything with even the appearance of realness is irresistible to voters. we have been slathered in bullshit for so long we long for anything authentic, we’ll take any reasonable facsimile therof.August 7, 2015 at 8:11 AM #788521FlyerInHiGuest
isnt trump really the logical conclusion of reagan? this is performance art…
Very accurate observation.
August 8, 2015 at 3:22 PM #788552La Jolla RenterParticipantHis debate numbers are so strong, he just might be able to run as a 3rd party candidate and win.
How can he get himself invited to the Democratic debate? I imagine he would pull just as well with democrats and mop up the stage with those candidates as well.
That’s how fed up voters are with the lame choices they have in each party.
August 8, 2015 at 3:35 PM #788553CoronitaParticipantWell the debate was definitely entertaining this time.

Are you serious or just having a piss with this comment?
You sound serious but the content is so absurd it reads like its from The Onion.

I don’t know if he’s serious, and my reaction was the same as yours. But make no mistake about it, the Trump candidacy is real. The Republican party has spent the last 30 years telling their constituency to not listen to informed sources, and that informed people are the enemy. They got what they asked for. They can’t really complain when their people want to follow an idiot.
August 9, 2015 at 5:19 PM #788557no_such_realityParticipantPeople like the glimmers of truth they hear. Things like his comment about buying all the people on stage with him and Hillary too. When the moderator pressed on what he got he basic said I said come to my wedding and she did.
Trump’s strength comes from when he’s says stuff like build the wall and immigration is broken people believe that’s what he really thinks.
When every other Republican or democratic front runner says something, they think that’s what they think I want to hear. Because the majority really don’t want to parse Jeb’s or any other candidates, ‘it’s not amnesty path to citizenship for those already here illegally’

He may be a lot of things but idiot is not one of them.
