How wonderful to hear about your idyllic new home, desmond! π
That’s very beautiful country up there, and it sounds like you and the wife are well suited for it. I’ll bet it adds years to your life since you get to enjoy nature and slow things down a bit. Thanks for letting us know how things are going. I hope you have many more happy years up there in the mountains. π
BTW, it hasn’t started snowing yet, has it?

One more thing, you cannot leave trash cans outside because of the bears, there is no trash service, you bring it to the local center to recycle what they can and they have a small dump for the balance.

Solar with propane, backup gen, septic tank. Water may be bit more problematic. Without utility water or proven well it it much more difficult sell. 500 gallon tank with rain water collection and filtration system is pricey. There are water services out there but a pain. Still dreaming for now.
Any of you folks done similar things?
Rustic cabin gateway has long been one of my dreams
