Weekend Cabin – San Diego close

Any of you folks owned a getaway cabin in within a few hours of San Diego?

Where would you live if you wanted a weekend cabin? (San Diego driving close)

Big Bear?
Idyllwild?
Julian?
Joshua tree area?
Palomar Mountain
Others

I sorta have a dream of getting a couple acres, drop in a nice prefab rustic cabin. If utilities are not present then go with Propane tank, maybe rudimentary solar, outhouse or septic tank, water tank or well. Probably much more hassle than it is worth, just dreaming now of get away.

I suppose my true dream home would be in the Sierras with alpine lake view, or San Juan Islands up in Washington, but would have to do with local San Diego are pickens.
