ParticipantFor those who do not know the background of Dr. Carson, he is a famous black physician, a strong conservative, and an eloquent speaker. Several months ago he gave a powerful speech in front of the Obama’s during which Obama was visibly embarrassed by what he heard. In true Chicago fashion, the good doctor was soon thereafter subject to an IRS audit.
Yes, this could be sheer coincidence, although I believe less than 1% of returns are audited (higher for higher-income people like Dr. Carson).October 6, 2013 at 10:02 PM #766442SD Realtor
ParticipantThere have been a few sheer coincidences with the IRS and this administration.

ParticipantI think you guys are sadly mistaken. I don’t think Obama had anything to do with it. I don’t think the Obama’s had anything to do with the prior incidents such as the audits of the ‘patriot’ groups.
No, the problem is actually much more heinous. It isn’t the president, too many of the pro-Obama government employees are ideologues. People crank about activist Judges, we have activists government employees that are slowly slipping into an ends justifies means mentality.
Now excuse me, I’m going to go read about the massive pent up demand that continues to cripple the health exchanges even though the media is having an incredibly hard time finding anyone that is signing up.

Participantnsr I completely agree with you. I should clarify that I don’t think Obama had anything to do with it personally as well. However, it is the responsibility of his administration, this includes him, to put rein in the government employees, especially those ideologues, who behave in that manner. There should be an emphasis on equal treatment to all people regardless of affiliation and there should be some review and checks and balances in place to identify systemic abuse when it occurs. Similarly when abuses are found there should be a swift response, identification of those involved, and nobody should be given immunity.
It is the responsibility of the administration to make sure these measures are in place, especially when the agency in question has acted in a dubious manner more then once.
I do not see any of that going on.

ParticipantWe’re in this mess for one simple reason.
Popular has replaced thought.
Antonio Villaraigosa goes to Washington Think Tank
After leading LA through the dark ages and massively improving it’s infrastructure (/snark), what could be more appropriate than a Washington think tank on infrastructure…

ParticipantNice… I kind of figured San Diego would have been his next stop.
