Scammers are so prevalent on craigslist and are becoming so wily, it is getting harder to detect. It seems every one in four posts/replies is dubious. Craigslist needs to put in place an effective filter or people will flee. I just received a reply from someone giving their full name, and whose address gives the impression they are a Realtor. They sent a link for a credit check, which my browser luckily spotted as rogue.

I stopped using ebay about 5 or 6 years ago when the ratio of dirtbags started to exceed the ratio of honest sellers. CL is fast closing in on number if it hasn’t already exceeded it.

I guess I must be lucky. I’ve purchased many things on craigslist from out of state even. I just the other day bought a little fledgling fig tree from some guy in Point Loma. Maybe I have a good detector for BS and filter those out.
