dave: For my personal grocery needs, which are minimal, I go to the Ralphs downtown on Market Street because it’s the closest grocer to where I live. If Food4Less was closer, hell, I’d probably go there.
Another thing about food-4-less, you have to bag your own groceries. I’m not saying I can’t do it, I don’t want to do it. You don’t even have to do that at Walmart. Dave, I can see YOU guarding that wallet like it’s Fort Knox, but I find it hard to believe that you’d enjoy bagging your own groceries.

My adventures to Food4Less are related to a charity I’m involved with. I didn’t want to explain, but since you had to dig… there, I said it. I’ll leave it to you to figure out how that fits in with your view that I guard my wallet like its Fort Knox. And, no, I have no problem whatsoever with bagging my own groceries. For what it’s worth, it’s standard operating procedure in much of Europe. I spent about 6 months (each) in London and Oslo about 12 years back and don’t remember anyone bagging my groceries for me. And, lo and behold, it didn’t bother me one whit.

I’m with Dave on this and I like the Fort Knox wallet, Marion. It works for me. A lot of spending is discretionary and that leaves me more to do something I want to with the money I save.
