I think it’s more important to look at the persons role in the run up of the housing crises. Did Davis take money from freddie/fannie or banks? Did she vote for the deregulation? Things like that. I can’t just say vote the person out based on one vote. Do your research. She may have been working on fixes things already, and then we might lose someone on our side (as much as a congresswoman could be anyway) It’s people like Barney Franks that really need to go. I’m not defending Davis, and I have no idea what her record is.
On another note. Blaming either repubs or dems exclusively for this mess is very narrow minded. The problem is the corrupt atmosphere of the government as a whole. The parties act the same regardless. They just use BS excuses to gain peoples vote to stay in power and continue with their greed! DO YOUR RESEARCH! Don’t let one party or the other BS you into a vote.

October 13, 2008 at 12:56 PM #286763jParticipantDavis did nothing to stop the mortgage crisis. She had to know is was going on, because her district has all those condos that are bank owned now. She turned a blind eye to the problem, so the voters should vote her out.
Then when it hit the fan she voted for the first bill that hit the House floor, even though it was a horrible bill. San Diego and the country will be better off without her.

October 13, 2008 at 1:26 PM #286773RicechexParticipantI agree. She even had a poll on her website about the bailout bill. Its results showed that her constituents wanted a vote against it. I have emailed her and called her office several times about this matter. I will not be voting for her this time.
