Upkeep when you can’t or won’t sell your home

I’m a news reporter who is trying to find out how people are maintaining, repairing or renovating homes that they can’t or won’t sell right now. I’d love to chat with growing families who have opted to expand instead of sell. Or people who are handling the upkeep on two homes that they own while one is on the market. Or people who have had to add a new roof or redo paint (or whatever other project) on a home that’s been on the market for a while. And perhaps there are people reading this who are upgrading their homes that haven’t sold to make them more appealing. I’m interested in talking to anyone who is dealing with maintenance or size issues in their current home during this poor sellers’ market.

BTW it sucks to do that repainting thing to make the realtors happy.
the existing paint is perfectly fine, but realtors just want beige everywhere.

That’s why I haven’t hired a realtor yet. I was thinking of just putting up signs at nearby open houses directing people towards my place where I won’t be paying a commission to a realtor so I “can sell it at a lower price”, right! Sarcasm off. All kidding aside, I think “won’t” is the operative word.
