February 3, 2020 at 10:02 AM #814591FlyerInHiGuest
I believe I will be more right more times than you have been right Brian. it all started with my early call that Hillary would lose and Trump would win irrespective who I like and dislike. You’ve been wrong for consistently a lot longer. That’s not an opinion. That’s a fact.
We shall see if the trade war with China will result in a situation better than when the war was launched. I don’t think so. Our farmers will suffer most because China has already diversified away from us and even when a trade agreement is signed, our farmers will be even more captive to a single buyer, the Chinese state.
Trump winning is just the unmasking of America as a country of deplorables. That’s why I consider myself a citizen of the world more than an American. We do deserve Trump.
We should give uyghurs automatic asylum like we did Cubans for decades.
We did not however give travel visas to Cubans. Our embassies and consulates in China could give Uyghurs no-question-asked visas. That’s the least we could do.
Flu, you should focus on our own actions and not others so much. How are we making the world better?

LOL.You can renounce your citizenship and leave any time you want, no ones going to stop you, I am sure some here will help you fill out the paper work even.

It’s not a very logical argument. The Chinese conservatives could say the same thing about their liberals
Just for argument’s sake, I will employ flu’s logic after he bitches about California, which he does often: My wealth is increasing so I’m doing just fine.
February 3, 2020 at 2:16 PM #814595MyriadParticipantBest video I seen so far is Chinese police destroying the automatic mah jong machines so villagers wouldn’t gather together.
LOL, wouldn’t it just be easier to confiscate them?February 3, 2020 at 4:25 PM #814596The-ShovelerParticipantJust using the numbers we are being told (in China).
425 deaths
20438 confirmed cases
2,788 of the cases are severe (around 14%)Clearly this thing is no fun if you get it.
February 3, 2020 at 6:51 PM #814597spdrunParticipantMaybe it will have relatively low mortality (2-4%) but cause infertility in 50% of cases. Imagine if this ended up being the solution to overpopulation and climate change — ZPG babeh! (or not) Think of it as Mother Gaia defending herself and restoring balance.

coverup after coverup.
Continuing to defend Chinese government makes anyone look nothing less than a fool. These WeChat messages were circulated well before they were taken down. People knew about this outbreak way earlier. But couldn’t do anything about it. Now that precious chinese economy is going to take a big hit. Karma.

Typical authoritarian rule, blame the messenger.
Too bad the US is starting to go down that road too with people promoting fake facts and non-scientific theories.February 5, 2020 at 8:20 PM #814628FlyerInHiGuestThe coronavirus reawakens old racist tropes against Chinese people
When white labor unions lobbied to bar Chinese workers from entering the United States in the late 1800s, a main argument of their allies was that “Chinese” strains of certain maladies, especially sexually transmitted diseases, were more virulent than white ones. In the spring of 1876, when the California state senate met to consider the demands of American labor to ban most Chinese immigrants from America, sex and disease grabbed the headlines.

Doctor who raised alarm on coronavirus dies of disease.
China Clamps Down on Coronavirus Coverage as Cases Surge.February 6, 2020 at 10:38 AM #814634CoronitaParticipantI’ve experienced more racism and discrimination in workforce from far left leaning liberals when I was younger than right leaning conservatives. Come to think of it.mmthe times I moved up considerably quickly up the ranks…were all due to VPs who were more conservative and valued my contributions based on merit versus all the other liberal leaning VPs that did promotions based on quotas and demographics. just saying…
