Had a household emergency yesterday so had to venture out to Lowes…they have plexiglass at the checkouts between the clerk and the customer now, and they were running announcements on the speakers telling folks to stay six feet apart.
I was impressed!

April 1, 2020 at 1:23 PM #816101FlyerInHiGuestFlu, why the fixation on what China does? If we already know China’s MO, it’s up to us to lead by example and do better. People of the world are not stupid, they can watch and have their own takeaway.
Meanwhile, we can’t even get our shit together. Don’t even know where our supplies are
Last week, a Trump administration official working to secure much-needed protective gear for doctors and nurses in the United States had a startling encounter with counterparts in Thailand.
The official asked the Thais for help—only to be informed by the puzzled voices on the other side of the line that a U.S. shipment of the same supplies, the second of two so far, was already on its way to Bangkok.
Trump aides were alarmed when they learned of the exchange, and immediately put the shipment on hold while they ordered a review of U.S. aid procedures. Crossed wires would only confuse our allies, they worried, or worse—offend them. And Americans confronting a surging death toll and shortages of medical equipment back home would likely be outraged.

It’s not “some guy sitting in an office.” It’s the CDC.
That doctor is, however, just one guy on the front lines. He might be an expert on how to treat the virus (although not necessarily). But his training and experience wouldn’t make him an expert on how easily or in what manner the virus is transmitted. The CDC is thousands of people dedicated to exactly such things.

Now that I think about it, the likely scenario, politically, has nothing to do with the reality of how trump deals with the situation. Or what happens with the virus. No matter what happens, right-wing propaganda will portray trump as the hero, and liberals as the villains. Tens of millions of ignorant, pathetic chumps will, as usual, fall for it[/quote]Of course:

Has he made some mistakes in dealing with it?
Yes, but so have I.
We can discuss whether he was late to the game, what his motives were, and on and on.
But with respect to this thread, I think it is of minor importance.

You are not President you did not appoint your son in law to play a role in this and you did not weaken agencies designed to keep us healthy.
Oh yeah and you did not have access to confidential intelligence reports.
