With today’s rally and press conference, Trump just sealed his re-election. Discuss.

See, this is why I changed my handle. I wish the stimulus package was for me. I could use 2 trillion, lol.

Mmm… I don’t know. Biden is looking more and more presidential.
Also, I think what we saw today in the markets is a dead cat bounce. Long term, probably not a big deal either way. Short term, gonna be pretty choppy.

He’s about to get fired for his interview with science magazine.

Trump’s very stable genius has been thinking. He doesn’t want to own the recession.
The markets rallied on his announcement to reopen the country.
Trump will blame the governors and the press for killing the economy. He gets re-elected. Brilliant!March 24, 2020 at 7:39 PM #815968svelteParticipantHere we go.
Got a call an hour ago. Three people very close to us found out this afternoon they have it. Two in their 50s, one in their 30s. One of the 50s is in the hospital.
They live in another west coast city and we haven’t seen them in a year. But someone else close to all of us in that city has major health issues (MHI). That MHI person has been on lockdown because of the situation, but now is going into ultra lockdown. Luckily that MHI person hadn’t seen the infected in 3 weeks.
March 24, 2020 at 9:54 PM #815969CoronitaParticipantSorry to hear that. I wish the best for them and a speedy recovery.
March 26, 2020 at 3:42 PM #815994FlyerInHiGuestThe USA is now #1
The total number of cases in the U.S. reached 82,404 Thursday evening, eclipsing China’s 81,782 confirmed infections and Italy at 80,589, according to data compiled by John Hopkins University.

Remember the official Chinese number for the whole country is only 3200, with Wuhan accounting for 2500 deaths.
If other crematoriums are handing out similar numbers of cremated remains, the death rate in Wuhan would exceed 50,000, or 20 times official figure.
March 27, 2020 at 10:13 AM #816007FlyerInHiGuestI guess those who cannot read Chinese can always check out the Epoch Times for the same coverage.

Or use Google web page translate:
https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.ltn.com.tw%2Fnews%2Fworld%2Fbreakingnews%2F3114548%3Futm_source%3DFACEBOOK%26utm_medium%3DAPP%26utm_campaign%3DSHARE%26fbclid%3DIwAR1Gglqa0BUXWF1G4I5h33ke4OZm3N-jU-4MTRgtwZZF4yLPI6Jt84Gy0ccIt won’t translate pictograms in images, but it does get the Unicode or Big5 characters.
This is something I mentioned a while back – that the Chinese numbers are suspect. I was watching it grow.. and then all of a sudden, the numbers of infections stopped growing and the number of deaths nearly stopped at the same time. Incubation time of the disease is about 2 to 12 days, resolution (clearing the disease or death) can be up to 3 weeks. This means that the Wuhan death toll should have continued to increase for nearly 4 weeks after the infection rate dropped to near zero.
Some of this jives with what I have been seeing (numerically). The death rate once someone goes ‘critical’ is around 30% or more. There is a very large asymptomatic or weak infection group. Because of the weak stochastic testing, the reason why COVID-19 goes from a weak infection to a serious infection-death may be hard to discover, as well as its true death rate on infection.
The only countries that seem to have done a half decent job are Germany and South Korea.
March 27, 2020 at 11:57 AM #816010The-ShovelerParticipantThere are likely Huge numbers of unreported positive cases.
We need a test for covid-19 anti-bodies more than the other way around at this point.
We may be much closer to herd immunity than we think.Likely Covid-19 has been circulating in SoCal since December.
