Thanks a lot to all the Piggs for all the valuable education from this board … I finally took the plunge after 3 years of research and crossed over to the other side. Not quite the Dream House, but perhaps the right balance of lot size, schools, $/sqft, Ocean Views and High Tension Power Lines/Towers, that I can afford within my budget.
Locked in at 4.875% (got a PMI less than the going rent in this area), at around 2001 inflation adjusted price.

For me, now its about time for Buyer’s Remorse as I discover the areas and ways I overspent on this deal 🙂

I think if you’re buying for the long term and buying a home to live in vs. an investment for the long term..now is an ok time to buy.
