So TB, how do you explain Californication…
(We are getting screwed or what)
It’s going to take a while for Obama to shrink government to a rational size given the enormity which it grew while Bush was President and the Republicans were in control of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Hopefully Obama can inspire state and local governments to shrink also.
IT’S GOING TO BE AN OBAMA NATION, BABY! SO LONG BIG-SPENDING, WAR-MONGERING, GOVERNMENT-EXPANDING REPUBLICANS! DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU WHERE GOD SPLIT YOU! YEE-HAW!
How long has the Dems been in charge in California.
Boy, I just love my big surplus, budget-balanced, low tax, limited Calif. Government… its getting better every day…Just can’t wait for the Federal version.
Can you provide the source where Obama states he will ‘shrink’ the overall government?

October 11, 2008 at 8:19 AM #285494scaredyclassicParticipantthere was a recent study comparing the private bar v. federal public defender. the private bar failed in every measure in terms of “production” for clients, longer sentences, longer to get a resolution etc, general efficiency. the private sector in that arena is full of bluster and absolutely ridiculous. report is available online. public defenders on average are so far superior to the average criminal defense lawyer. the public is ill-informed and believes public defenders (free government lawyers) are worthless. there was also an interesting study published in the wsj many years ago that found that government lawyers are, on average, less attractive that their private counterparts.

Whats the private-sector equivalent of that?
