partypup: Some well placed concertina wire and a few Claymore mines along your perimeter should dissuade all but the most aggressive from violating your “personal space” (which I define as a 100yd perimeter outside of my fence line).
You might also take Breezie up on his suggestion regarding acquisition of a .50 cal. I’d opine against choosing that crappy Russian made DSHK 12.7mm shown in the picture above and opt for the good, old American-made Browning M2 (the “ma deuce”).
That distinctive thumping sound as it fires is much akin to the racking sound of a pump 12ga action: No other sound quite like it and it sends the message very effectively.
Hey, Breeze, which one is you in the picture?

Got a pot belly,
It’s not too big
Gets in my way
When I’m driving my rigDriving this country
In a big old rig
Things I’ve seen
Mean a lotFriend has a pickup
Drives his kid to school
Then he takes his wife
To beauty schoolNow she’s doin’ nails
Gonna get a job
Got a good teacherThere’s a fork in the road ahead
I don’t know which way I’m gonna turn
There’s a fork in the road aheadAbout this year
We salute the troops
They’re all still there
In a fucking war
It’s no good
Whose idea was that?I’ve got hope
But you can’t eat hope
I’m not done
Not giving up
Not cashing in
Too lateThere’s a bailout coming but it’s not for me
It’s for all those creeps watching tickers on TV
There’s a bailout coming but it’s not for meI’m a big rock star
My sales have tanked
But I still got you
Thanks

Sounds like shitKeep on bloggin’
‘Til the power goes out
Your battery’s dead
Twist and shoutOn the radio
Those were the days
Bring ’em backThere’s a bailout coming but it’s not for you
It’s for all those creeps hiding what they do
There’s a bailout coming but it’s not for you
Bailout coming but it’s not for youGot my flat screen
Got it repo’d now
They picked it up
Left a hole in the wall
Last Saturday
Missed the Raiders gameThere’s a bailout coming but it’s not for you

I think a key will be timing, there may be a point when you will need to get out of town – if you wait to long you could be in trouble.
Temecula has a great escape route to the east if things got that bad.
On the other hand, maybe a hidden underground bunker is the way to go.
