SD Realtor, I’m not arguing that the Democrats did the right thing and worked on a timely basis.
On this thread I’m justifying the Tea Party downgrade moniker.
S&P watched the obstruction at work and they made their judgement.
If you lend money to a couple. But you know that wife and husband always bicker and that, for some petulant reason, one party will refuse to pay existing bills, then you will begin to question their willingness to pay bills already incurred.

August 8, 2011 at 8:36 PM #716385KIBUParticipantBasically the problem was using the threat of default of the country and hold hostage the country to gain political points, while disregarding the potential ramifications of their actions.
By the way, 1 trillion evaporated today in the stock:

As of now, the Nikkei is down 400 points.
I vaguely remembered someone warned us about all this but some probably thought it was and may still is just fiction.

Of course it also doesnt address the fact that the husband and wife used to have a supermajority and saw storm clouds on the horizon but chose to deal with the upcoming storm in the same way as all the previous husbands and wives… that is to not deal with them.
