ParticipantI think you just saved yourself several month of unpaid work and a ton of frustration.
I know several people who’re (re)listing their homes now with high hopes for coming housing season. Also it seems a fresh batch of knife catchers is shaping in San Diego.

ParticipantI think until people are feeling the pinch more, this sort of unrealistic seller is going to persist. I think several people are still in or think they are in the *wanting* to sell category, as opposed to *needing* to sell. It's going to take more economic pain before people realize they *need* to sell versus *wanting* to sell. Not that I'm looking forward to economic pain, because me thinks everyone is going to be in pain, some more than others.
Don't know if you read about my comment regarding the Heights Auction in Carmel Valley that happened…But it seems like some people still haven't "gotten it" yet….400-500 people to be specific
And yes, fishtank person is still listing at $510k…..Oh when will the insanity stop….

GuestThese people are in denial and with that kind of feedback I’d tell them, “you’re on your own”.

ParticipantThus, this is the reason why I think it will take quite awhile to reach the bottom in certain areas.

ParticipantWell done SD, tell ’em like it is. My mother has been a Reator in PA for 25 years, and she never takes listings in a down market when the sellers are unreasonable. I spoke with her about it last week, and she has refused several listings in the past couple of weeks due to sellers not willing to price accordingly.
The funny thing is, when she looks at all the past down markets it’s amzing how many of those unreasonable sellers eventually come back to the Realtor that told them the truth in the first place, and she gets the re-list.
