The only problem with this is I think I would get sick riding one , then the dang thing would probably eat me.

I agree completely, but even the elephants won’t be as popular as the multi-ton cockroach vehicles. I mean, why would you want to ride inside a car, when you could ride on top of a gigantic, omnivorous, disease-carrying insect?
I like the line of thinking. Maybe they can also make giant maggots that we can ride around like the sandworms in Dune. Or human sized, hyperintelligent earwigs to be our au pairs.
It’s funny, I used to think of biotech in terms of curing disease. But I was all wrong. We need to focus on the creation of enormous, revolting insect-hybrid monstrosities to serve as our transportation and, eventually, our overlords.
