ParticipantThis is going to hit the unemployment numbers hard.
My brother in law has worked for GM for more than 15 years doing accounting/IT stuff. (Yes, somehow he did both).
He applied for a promotion 2 years ago – they gave it to him… but didn’t take away his old job. So he had 2 full time jobs and 1 salary. 2 bosses. Etc. It sucked. Then after the latest round of layoffs he was given a 3rd job. And a 3rd report tree.I think he’s actually hoping to get laid off so he can spend time with his family again.

ParticipantI’m going to guess that the govt is going to keep the taps open. GM won’t be allowed to outright fail.
