We originally bought a house and in 04 with an adjustable rate loan and because of a couple wise friends and professor piggington, we chose to sell 8 months later in 05.

Wow, talk about timing! We actually made a little cash and at the same time saw the biggest RE decline flash before our eyes from the sidelines.

Fast forward 6yrs and we finally found the perfect house for us. WIth a couple young kids our priorities have changes a lot in the past 6yrs. Moved far from the beach which we have not missed at all but the amount of space we have makes it worth it.

So just wanted to thank you guys for giving me the moral support and wisdom to be patient in jumping back in the market.
We couldn’t be happier!

We agree about the beach…we prefer to live a few miles inland and drive to the beach a few times a year rather than live by the beach and deal with the congestion daily.

Congrats and kudos to you. With prices and rates where they are I believe this is the year the last of the bubble sitters should look long and hard at securing a long term home. I can’t say the timing will be right for everyone but the market seems to be ripe for the picking.

Yes it is. Go to ‘My Account’ tab on the left, select edit. You’ll note that your user name is ‘editable’. publicdefender aka scaredy aka walterwhite aka ???.. has already done it a few times.

Bet it feels good to finally be done with waiting. Yes, having kids really changes your priorities.

Congratulations on your new house! Hope your family shares many happy memories there for years to come.

BTW, living near the beach can be a bit of a bummer because of all the fog, too. I think 5-10 miles inland is the best of all worlds (not too cold, not too hot…just right).
