However, you can look at the religious rulings made by the various reputable muslim scholars, and look at how they interpreted the verses and it has been confirmed that “terror” means “terror”.
[Citation needed]
When there are a thousand Erik Princes committing 10,000 killings in the name of his religion, then you would have a point. Otherwise, it just looks silly.
Are you suggesting there is only one person in the world like him? There have been several examples presented in this thread alone. What’s silly is your naivete. In my time in the military, I personally met at least a dozen soldiers who had similar beliefs to Erik Prince. No doubt there’s a thousand more that I haven’t met. Give them a weapon, deploy them in an Islamic country with limited accountability and guess what happens?
Even if there were 1 million Muslim extremists in the world (and there aren’t nearly that many), then that would mean that less than one tenth of one percent of Muslims are “terrorists”.
But facts don’t matter, this is the only logic we need:
- Muslim guy commits a mass killing similar to so many others in the US.
- Some references to violence in the Koran.
- A handful of extremist Muslim leaders have gotten some attention in the media over the years.
- Therefore, 1.5 billion people on earth are terrorists.

I’ve done projects with and for Israel’s Home Front Command (their version of Dept. of Homeland Security) and these folks are as professional as it gets. You don’t find ideological or religious extremists, what you find are intelligence and military professionals trying to protect Israel from Hamas, Hezbollah, the Syrians and Iranians. The threats are very real and coming from, as you call them, “scary” people.
As I penned above, this is a complex situation, with nutbags on all sides, including ours. However, to say that the entire State of Israel is given over to ethnic cleansing isn’t true and the average Israeli is as concerned about Netanyahu as you are.
The PLO Charter clearly states that the destruction of the State of Israel is one of its prime mandates. Iran feels the same way, as do senior members in the governments of Saudi, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, etc, etc, etc.
Which is to merely repeat that fundamentalist anything is dangerous.
Allan, I don’t paint any one group as anything. I just point out forces. Israel by it’s nature was considered prophecy by the zionist movement back in the 40s. The european jews that fled persecution were hardened and clung to their religion because of such. Cause and effect.
Truman was a christian zionist, being is that he believed they should have that land according to the bible.
The whole region is steeped IMO, icky religious fundamentalism and they feed off each other. The crazier one side gets the more insane the other gets.
It’s just the nature of the beast.

That’s quite a lot of stuff there Arraya but all it does is say that jews have a claim on that land. We all knew that. And a movement to reclaim the land. Oh big whoops. And people who believe in prophecy and want to make it happen. Big whoops.
But where is the specific violent scripture that says “Kill the gentiles now and forever?”. There’s a difference between “God says this land is yours” and “God says kill them.”
Because I’m still waiting for that. And that is the fundamental difference between your position and mine. Jihadists say that their god wants them to kill people. What do jewish settlers want – they want their land back. Do you see the difference?
