Regarding having 2 jobs and taxes, I cannot quite understand the tax system on this one. As SD Realtor, I have 1 full time job and 1 part time job.
As explained to me by my accountant:
The first job (full time) eats up the lower tax rate. Somehow, I pay 40% taxes on the second lower earning job.Hypothetically, if I got a raise at the full time job to equal the gross earnings of the part time job, then my full time tax bracket might increase, but not to 40%.
So, unless the second job pays really well, it may not be worth the time/effort.

Obama: Look, I’ll appear to open the door on VAT and you guys slam it shut.
Congress: Great idea! Then we can advertise that we opposed the VAT! We’re tax-fighters!

It could be to reassure people that they have to do something about debt besides print more money and/ or devalue the dollar. I think these are trial balloons at this point. The Europhiles are all over it.
