    Hi,
    I’ve already had my taxes reassessed once and I am looking to do it again in 2009. When my taxes were reassessed the first time I was a little shocked by the number they came up with because I thought it was high. My question is–where/how do they get the number that they decide is fair value? It’s nowhere near what prices actually are. Just curious…

    The value they re-assess at is not the current price but rather a previous price. I believe they attempt to use the mid-year i.e. January 1st price but dont quote me on it. You should be able to find the answer at the assessors website.
