If the vast majority of people on the planet decided to stop reproducing in order to save the environment (or whatever), then I suspect that most elected officials – who would have been elected by these “population reduction minded” folks – would not be pusing “growth for growth’s sake” (to paraphrase) – or at least not to the degree depicted in the video.
Ok , since you say the above. Then I was correct in my inference regarding your meaning of which you DENIED. Which proves my original point, you’re full of shit
Exactly where did I assert that “economics pushes growth to support increasing populations”? I don’t even know what that sentence means. You just made that up. This is a recurring issue with you
February 20, 2010 at 9:43 AM #515754ArrayaParticipant
Exactly where did I assert that “economics pushes growth to support increasing populations”? I don’t even know what that sentence means. You just made that up. This is a recurring issue with you

No, it’s a misunderstanding because you don’t write clearly. I didn’t even understand what this statement meant: “economics pushes growth to support increasing populations.”
Had you said, “Politicians and many economists push growth to support increasing populations,” I would have said, “Yeah, ok, I can kind of see that… maybe.” But you didn’t.
Now, are you going to continue to avoid addressing your “magical thinking” problem?

February 20, 2010 at 10:04 AM #515624ArrayaParticipantSo you’re saying because I said “economics” instead of “Politicians and many economists”, it confused you?
I don’t think it’s reading comprehension. So, Ill stick with “full of shit”
