Guestafter several years of lurking, this is the thread that made me register and log on.
lots of good advice here. it seems as though a combination of Allan’s armory and scaredycat’s close combat weapons are the way to go. if zombies can be killed from a distance, this would truely be the best way. eventually you would run out of ammo and need to fight hand to hand. perhaps some type of long chinese spear (from old school kung fu movies) could be used to maximize the distance.
also, i think i would rather set up a home on a nearby unpopulated island. there are a few of these off the coast of santa barbara. i would only make incursions into the mainland to pick up food, supplies, or non-zombie hot chicks in need of my help.
assuming zombies can’t swim.

Ah, but would they float? (Would they still have residual gasses). I could see them falling into the water though and getting washed ashore on your island, if they don’t get eaten by sharks or picked apart by crabs on the sea bottom. So, an island too, imo, would still need a perimeter defense.
