Good info, PC.
I look askance at any property listing that won’t provide a picture (despite the agent/owner describing it as “really cute.”) Also – what’s up with 4824 71TH ST? Doesn’t he mean 71st St? It doesn’t look good when the street name is misspelled in the listing – I wonder what else the owner is going to get wrong.

“Owner is real estate agent. Bring all offers.”

Also possible to prune the landscape without hiring a gardener.

November 12, 2006 at 7:32 PM #39824Diego MamaniParticipantGood post PC. About that “cute” remark… the Freakonomics bestseller book reports that words like cute, cozy, charming, etc., are associated with less desirable properties and hence, lower prices. Realtors use those words when they can’t say new construction, pool, ocean view, hardwood flooring, etc., which are associated with more desirable, and more expensive, houses.

November 13, 2006 at 12:08 PM #39863PerryChaseParticipantsdrealtor, that house is cute but not $1.2 million cute — more like 500k. The decoration is too grandmotherly in my view.
November 13, 2006 at 1:54 PM #39880sdrealtorParticipantThe house is on over 1/2 acre in Olivenhain a stones throw from RSF. It has tons of character, beautiful grounds, nice views etc. You will grow old waiting for houses like that to sell anywhere near $500K.
